Fixed satellite terminal

VT 120 Ka-Q


The VT 120 Ka-Q is a VSAT Terminal designed to provide instant access to satellite communications for any application that requires reliable and/or remote connectivity in a rugged environment. Ideally suited for industries such as Oil & Gas Exploration, Mining, Disaster Management, Construction, Mobile Offices, Emergency Services, Cellular Backhaul and many others. The VT 120 Ka-Q can be mounted as a permanent installation. The pointing is entrusted to a very precise manual adjustment system. On this terminal many types of L-Band satellite modems can be used enabling users to access high throughput internet services via satellite and receive video broadcast services. VT 120 Ka-Q can combine high performance and small size due to highly integrated components reducing the waveguide path and relevant losses such improving Tx power and Rx noise figure. Any commercial L band Modem could be connected to the transceiver via three IFL cables (Tx, Rx, DC/M&C). The 10MHz frequency reference is muxed over the Tx cable.

Product Overview


VT 120 Ka terminal is available in circular polarization and operates 43.9GHz to 44,6GHz
in uplink and at 19.1GHz to 19.8GHz in downlink. VT 120 Ka is a very flexible terminal with light weight, quick installation and high perfomances


The basic components are:

• Antenna subsystem
• Transceiver
• IFL cables

Antenna subsystem

The main reflector is made in carbon-epoxy, it consists of a single lightweight 1.22m dish, the reflective surface is metalized to have very low ohmic losses. ( a low cost reflector made in glass-epoxy option is available. Keeping the same shape surface and metallization process guarantee also good performances) The structure is designed to guest up to three 140W TWTA in a 2+1 redundancy system, and it is possible to have any LNA redundancy system plate. The main reflector consists of a single lightweight 1.22m dish,  made of glass fibre for easy deployment and packaging alongside electrical accuracy, wind resistance and mechanical stability. It is arranged in single offset configuration for VT 120 Ka-Q.


The transceiver integrates the power supply with double isolation filter port and is directly connected with the 8W BUC. It is provided by a non-penetrating mounting system on pedestal and mast. This is based on an elevation mechanism with respect to azimuth, equipped with very precise positioning screws to ensure continuous fine adjustment during the alignment phase.

Transceiver

The transceiver is housed in a rugged mechanical, single-waterproof (IP65) enclosure, which is sealed against moisture, dust and rain, allowing the transceiver to withstand severe environmental conditions. The Lband frequiencies (950÷1650MHz For TX and TX) allow the installation of the most common models of Modems. External Reference Can bu muxed from GNSS Receive in the case of Modem Unlocked

BUC

Two different power sizes are available: the 8 or 16 W terminal.
