TNA57 Baikonur
This Project arises from the need to have an antenna capable of performing LEOP in X-band at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The availability of the Roskosmos agency of a TNA-57 antenna (designed by OKB in 1967 and used by the Intersputnik system with S-band broadcasting functionality) no longer used, leads to the choice of its reconditioning and transformation for the new use.
The transformation activity requires different types of Intervention.
A new geometry of the optics that provides for the reworking of the sub-reflector and the horn of the feed, while maintaining the same geometry as the main reflector, ensures maximization of the use of the largest available amount of reflective surface.
The design of a 4-port feed for transmission and reception in left and right circular polarization in Band X, to ensure use in all possible combinations within the band.
The development of a monopulse tracking system on the whole RX band based on a Tracking Coupler TE21.
