Fixed satellite terminals TSF VSAT family

The TSF VSAT product suite is a family of fixed satellite terminals operating in the EHF or Ka bands. They are designed for connection to central hubs or directly to other fixed stations, using DVB RCS mesh functionality. The terminals have been in use for several years in government scenarios consisting of a satellite network made up of thousands of remote stations spread over vast territories. The transceivers provide an L-band interface to the RCS DVB modem located in the baseband section. TSF VSAT can combine high performance and small size thanks to highly integrated components that reduce waveguide path length and related losses while simultaneously improving Tx power and Rx noise figure.

Product Overview

The TSF 101 / E terminal is available with linear or circular polarization and operates from 43.5 GHz to 44 GHz in the uplink and from 20.2 GHz to 21.2 GHz in the downlink.

The TSF 211 / Ka terminal through its transceiver is able to translate the Tx 500 MHz band of the modem into the lower half RF (civil band from 29 GHz to 29.50 GHz / military band from 30 GHz to 30.50 GHz) or in the upper half (civil band from 29.5 GHz to 30 GHz / military band from 30.5 GHz to 31 GHz) by electronically switched local oscillators.

Antenna subsystem

The antenna subsystem includes the mechanical support and aiming structure, the reflector and the power supply unit.
The main reflector consists of a single 1 2m lightweight reflector, made of fiberglass for easy deployment and packaging along with electrical precision, wind resistance and mechanical stability It is organized in single offset configuration for TSF 101 / E and dual offset configuration for TSF 211 Ka.
The power supply is mechanically integrated inside the transceiver and includes the horn for reflector illumination, the OMJ for the separation of the Tx and Rx bands, the polarizer and the rejection filters. The supporting and aiming structure is provided by a pedestal mounting system and a non-penetrating shaft. This is based on an azimuth elevation mechanism, equipped with fine screws to ensure continuous fine adjustment during the alignment phase.

Transceiver

The transceiver is housed in a rugged, waterproof mechanical housing (IP 65, which is sealed against moisture, dust and rain, allowing the transceiver to withstand harsh environmental conditions.
